Please join us on the evening of Friday, June 9th at 6pm to celebrate our 10th year serving the bike community of St. Petersburg. This will also be a fundraising event to help keep our mission pushing forward. 🥳🚲
We know you have many choices of well deserving local nonprofit organizations when choosing where to donate your hard earned money or precious time. We greatly appreciate any monetary donations, large and small! Please consider making a contribution to the St. Pete Bike Co-op if you’re able to.
Here are a few ideas of ways you can support the St. Pete Bike Co-op towards our mission:
Happy Thanksgiving! We are super excited about the changes Facebook/Meta has made to their #givingtuesday matching for this year. They have extended matching for the entire holiday season between November 15 and December 31, 2022 instead of just the one single day of years past. Matching is now based on recurring donations. Believe it or not Facebook fundraisers have far fewer fees for nonprofits than many other fundraising platforms! Recurring donations can be as little as $5 a month to qualify for matching. Recurring donations help the St. Pete Bike Co-op to carry on with our mission and help ensure our future here in St. Pete. Consider donating monthly or even creating your own Facebook Fundraiser supporting St. Pete Bike Co-op to help us spread the word. Our goal for this year is to find just 25 recurring donors. ❤️🚴♀️🙏 #stpetebikecoop #GivingTuesday #givingseason #AppreciateYall
Please forward this final invitation to other community bike organizations.

Sunday, October 31st! Open Streets is back, Baby! And so is the St. Pete Bike Co-op! This event is truly near and dear to our hearts as it was an event the Bike Co-op helped sponsor and get off the ground back in 2016. The St. Petersburg Downtown Partnership aka #CARFREESTPETE has now taken the reigns and it’s bigger and better than ever! So let’s come out, support, have some fun and celebrate! Central Avenue will be closed to car traffic from 9th St/MLK to 31st St in true cyclovia style!
It’s been an incredibly challenging and difficult time for so many of us. We are so thankful to be here and to be a part of this incredible event. Please join us, won’t you? We’d love to see you on what looks to be a beautiful fall day. We’ll be setting up a couple of tents, selling bikes, t-shirts, and just generally telling people what the co-op is all about. Maybe a costume contest? And of course there will be Halloween treats! The event itself runs 12-5.
We could really use your help! Please take a moment to consider volunteering for the St. Pete Bike Co-op Tent at Halloween on Central Open Streets Event. We’ll be located just west of the 275 overpass in front of Goodyear at 1912 Central Ave, St. Petersburg, FL 33712. And of course, if you’re not able to volunteer that day, we sincerely hope that you make it out to the enjoy event and stop by and say “hello”.
If you can’t volunteer in person, perhaps you’d share this post with your friends? Thank you!
Please sign up only if you can commit the time and task assigned.
Ride your bike! But if you must drive, Volunteer parking will be available at public parking lot 19 at Central Ave 19th St.
If you sign up and later discover you cannot work your shift, PLEASE notify us as early as possible (so we aren’t left shorthanded) and cancel your shift assignment on this site.
Happy September, Y’all! We are having our first BIG BIKE SALE!
Did you know that as part of our mission the St. Pete Bike Co-op offers used bikes at very affordable prices? In addition to our already low, low costs, we’re excited to offer for the month of September, 25% off all bikes! Come in and see us. Inventory changes fast. You can see some of our available inventory by searching “St. Pete Bike Co-op” on Facebook Marketplace. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/111326725552547/search?query=st.%20pete%20bike%20co-op
Oh hey there! Check out our sweet, sweet, new shirts, designed by the Co-op’s very own super talented Caelan Jeffery! We have so many options for you! We’ll have a dark heather grey cotton blend option at Open Shop starting tomorrow (Thur. June 24th, 2021)! Thanks to Adam at Extra Medium for being our local printer pretty much since we quit printing them ourselves way back in 2015!
In Shop Prices: Non-Members – $20 Members – $15 (members who join or extend their membership for 2 years get one free!) Volunteers or Staff – $5!!
For those that are farther away or who wish to order online, we have them available through our Bonfire store at slightly higher costs due to them handling the printing and shipping for us. Unfortunately the discounts above are only for the shirts purchased in person in the shop, so come on in! Hope you love them as much as we do!
The St. Pete Bike Co-op needs your help. Covid has taken a huge toll on our operations, which prior to this year, were largely self sustaining. We are now back for Open Shop nights, though in severely limited capacity for safety reasons. Our expenses are up and our sales, donations and memberships are way down. We are quickly approaching a turning point where we may have to make some very tough decisions.
Please join me in supporting the St. Pete Bike Co-op. This #GivingTuesday I’m raising money for St. Pete Bike Co-op and your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate $5 or $500. Every little bit helps. And on GivingTuesday Dec 1, Facebook will match $7 million in qualifying donations. Thank you for your support. I’ve included information about St. Pete Bike Co-op below.
The St. Pete Bike Co-op is a non-profit organization that provides people of all ages and backgrounds with assistance and instructions on how to repair and maintain bicycles. We are community-centered and volunteer-focused.
Operating as a cooperative shop, we provide affordable ways to acquire and maintain a bike, offer bicycle related education programs, promote bicycle safety, encourage reuse and recycling, and promote general bicycle advocacy.
Our Vision is to make cycling easy, fun and safe in St. Pete.
Starting 10/15 we will be open Monday’s from 5pm-9pm and Thursday’s 6pm-9:30pm for donation drop offs and walk-ins inquiring for parts, assistance, as well as those needing access to our stands and bike tools.
Please note that Monday’s and Thursdays are slightly different hours, so that we can accommodate our volunteers schedules and still be open to serve the community in some capacity.
Maximum capacity is 4 people for right now. This means that when you arrive, we ask that you remain outside until staff says that it is safe to enter. There will be two mechanics in the shop which means we will only allow 2 patrons in at a time and it’s a first come first serve basis. We require that staff, volunteers and patrons (aka everyone!) practice social distancing and wear masks. Masks will be made available to those that do not have one. All tools will be sanitized before individual use. We want to help everyone but must do it as safely as possible. Those that are not able to be helped or can’t make it on Monday’s or Thursday’s can schedule appointments for other days by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Watch our Facebook Page for updates. Sign our new Electronic Waiver ahead of time!
